Bold in Red (blogged)

Good evening everyone,

A late night post from me. What can I say, it was a long day. It's been a while. Some days I get into some red hot moods, and I'm not talking about behaviour or attitude. I'm talking about colour preference. Today was one of those days I just felt like being bold with some strong reds.

I started off looking through my skins, and I wanted one that had some bright red lips and smokey eyes. Lucky for me, I knew exactly where I wanted to go: my Lara Skins folder. Lara Skins is one of my newer additions to my inventory by the way. I find her fatpacks to be extremely reasonably priced, and her skins to be nicely done. One could chose from something as bold as this makeup to something more neutral and subtle.

I'm guessing with Spring here, I'm getting geared up for the fresh bloom of flowers we'll soon be seeing and I wanted to wear another flower in my hair. TRUTH still has some of my favourite sets of hairs for this, so today I wore Sehra. Again, this is another great buy as it is extremely versatile. The flower is scripted to change colours or be invisible according to your wardrobe needs.

Getting to my oufit, I had some fun shopping yesterday. I was bumming around Plurk and one of my contacts had mentioned Ce Cubic. I hadn't been there in AGES, so I decided to stop by. I'm not sure if that was a mistake or not. I'm almost certain that I nearly break my linden wallet every time I go there, but at the same time...can you blame me?! Anyways, one of the tops I got was this new Wild Linen top. It's actually a dress, but it can be worn in different ways, I chose it as a top. It comes in several neutral colours if you stop by Ce Cubic. I wore it with a fun and flirty skirt from LeeZu (yet another one of my staple stores). The skirt is sculpted and comes in several attachments, so it looks great no matter what crazy stuff your AO does.

Bold in Red shoes/accessories (blogged)

I'm still absolutely going nuts over the Dream.Booties shoes, as you can see I'm wearing the red ones (tomato) today. I topped my accessories off with some red bangles from Armidi and another wonderfully made necklace from Zaara. The necklace form Zaara perfectly drops both in the front and the back.

Hope you all have a great day/evening.

Sunday's Best

Posted by JanaD On Sunday, April 4, 2010 0 comments

Hello and happy Sunday to you all.

I'd also like to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Today's looks, although Easter themed isn't really centered around bunnies and eggs and chocolate (although I hope you had plenty today). Instead, I decided to dress up exactly how my good ol' mother used to make me dress up as a child. That is: my very best Sunday best on Easter Sunday.

Anyways, I decided to continue with spring colours and I wore this dress from Zaara. I have it in two colours, but this cream colour goes well with the season. Besides, it gave me a great excuse to wear these fabulous new shoes from The details are crisp in these shoes, and what's best about them: they're inexpensive!! There is a wide variety of colours at the store for you to chose from as well.

Topping off the look, I wore the Morning Fog set that I bought durin this year's Accessory Fair. The event went well, and I received a lot of great jewelry from there. This set is simple and perfect for spring with all it's different pastel coloured jewels. And of course, I stuck with some TRUTH hair. I'm in love with the orchid in the hair, which you can retexture to match your outfit.

All in all, I hope you all have a great evening!

City Girl

Hello to all of the fashionistas.

I've got a great New Release exclusive for you coming from PurpleMoon ! The new Melinda outfit by Poulet Koenkamp is chic and versatile. What's more, it comes in a variety of colours: black and ivory (modeled), black, black and teal, black and pink, black and red...the possibilities are endless.

For those who have followed many of blogs, then you may notice that I always like to mix and match outfits. However, some outfits are so great on their own. Poulet does a great job of this. The Melinda set is a package deal. It not only comes with a complete outfit, but it also comes with shoes and a hat that you can wear. I dig the flared sleeves and pant legs. If you chose to wear the pants with this outfit, it comes with a belt. I fell in love with this belt instantly. I didn't have to adjust the size at all, just the position. You have no idea how happy that made me, as I have wider hips and a bigger butt. Usually belts are a pain, or I have to forget them all together. So, I was pleasantly surprised.

The other option for this outfit is to wear it as a skirt. Again, the outfit exceeded my expectations. The skirt is fun and flirty. It's layered lace and creates a sheer look which works perfectly with the thigh high stockings that are included in the purchase. The double strapped heels are also classic and well textured to give this a well rounded look. I opted out of wearing the hat and stuck with a fun updo in the shape of a bow from one of my staple hair stores: W&Y. I also bought some great earrings while at Accessory fair and decided to throw on these ones from [ glow ].

Make sure you head to PurpleMoon and be one of the first to sport this new outfit. The best part about it is that it comes in layers, so you can mix and match it with other pieces if you're just like me. The bolero, the corset, the pants, and the skirts are all created with meticulous textures.

Ready For Work

Hi everyone!

I have the honour of posting our first post here on Fashion Assets. And there is nothing more exciting to kick off with styles from the ACCESSORY FAIR 2010. I've got two great finds to wet your appetite today. If you haven't been there yet, what are you waiting for???

Usually I like to create an outfit, and then chose accessories that help create a dynamic look. But in celebration of the fair, I first chose a few accessories and built the outfit around it. In the end, I created a fun little casual look. I don't want to spend too much time on the outfit, so I'll let you know that the top is from Armidi, the skirt from Phoenix Rising, the shoes from LeLutka, and the hair from Truth.

Let me first bring some attention to: *SiSSi*

One of the things I love about SiSSi is how completely fun the jewelry is that SiSSi String creates. When I first saw this necklace, I had to laugh at myself. I wear glasses, and have hung them on my belt, my pockets, my shirt, and yes even a necklace. Of course, I always end up asking myself "Where are my glasses?!" and frantically pat my head only to mess up my hair and realize I have it hanging off some other accessory. So, needless to say I love this necklace. Not only is it it fun, and totally fits my personality but it contains a script to change colours AND is modifiable so one can tint it appropriately. This leaves us with endless possibilities in one piece, especially since the menu contains 20 (yes, TWENTY) different colours. And as small as this detail may be, it made me so happy that the package included options to attach the necklace either to one's chest or spine. Check out "Where are my glasses" and other great accessories by Sissi String at the Fair.

Hop on the taxi to arive at the *SiSSi* booth.

Next let me focus on a set of earrings from: SIGMA

I'm not quite sure why, perhaps it has something to do with Spring being around the corner...but I am completely in love with teal, cyan, and vibrant ocean colours. My eyes instantly focused on these earring created by Sofi Trenkins. The first thing that caught my attention was the vibrant colours and elegant shape. Then I looked further at the detail, which is simply immaculate. The earrings come in either silver or gold trimming. The metal is perfect and the design drops into delicate leaves with amazing texture detail. And if you're not as obsessed with these blue and sea colours as I am, you're still in luck. The "Admira earrings" come in five different colours: brown, charcoal, red, purple, and sea. And, you don't have to stop there as there is a matching necklace.

Hop on the taxi to arrive at the SIGMA booth.
